How It Works
Shockwave therapy (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy — ESWT) is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate tissue regeneration. The waves create microtrauma in the tissues, stimulate the body's natural healing response, and break up calcified tissue, scar tissue, and adhesions.
What to Expect
The exact protocol depends on the condition being treated and the patient's response, but 3–6 treatments are typically needed. Sessions are 15–30 minutes. It is normal to experience some tolerable discomfort when receiving treatment.
