Do you direct bill?

Yes! We direct bill for Alberta Blue Cross, SunLife, Provider Connect (Green Shield, SSQ), Canada Life, Manulife Financial, Desjardins, and Medavie (Canada Wide Blue Cross), and others. Just ask if your insurance provider is not listed.

How many treatments are typically needed?

Treatment frequency varies by individual and condition. The initial phase typically involves 3–5 treatments about a week apart to address the main concern. Following initial improvement, sessions are spaced progressively further apart, often transitioning to maintenance visits every 4–6 weeks. We customize scheduling based on your individual recovery progress, budget, and personal preferences.

What is cold plunge therapy and what are the health benefits?

Cold plunge therapy involves submersion of the body into cold water (4–10 degrees Celsius). Documented benefits include: peripheral vasoconstriction directing blood toward the core and brain; reduced inflammation and muscle soreness; enhanced metabolism and weight loss potential; strengthened immune response; activation of cold shock proteins supporting protein development; free radical reduction; and elevated neurotransmitter levels for 2–6 hours post-session.

What is infrared sauna and what are the health benefits?

Infrared saunas emit infrared light experienced as radiant heat which is absorbed directly by the surface of the skin — contrasting traditional saunas that heat through air circulation. Reported benefits include blood pressure normalization, chronic pain and inflammation reduction, cholesterol improvement, detoxification, metabolism enhancement, circulation promotion, sleep quality improvement, and immune system strengthening.

What does one typically do during an infrared sauna and cold plunge session?

Sessions follow contrast therapy principles, alternating cold exposure (3–5 minutes) with heat exposure (15–20 minutes) across multiple rounds. Alternatively, clients may remain in the cold plunge for up to 10 minutes before finishing in the sauna. The clinic permits flexible session customization based on individual preference. Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman recommends this contrast therapy as a powerful tool for enhancing overall health and well-being.

What is biofeedback therapy and how can I book it?

Biofeedback testing measures electrical resistance at various points on the body to assess key body functions. Sessions are painless with instant computerized results. This service is provided by independent practitioner Natasha Osmond. Bookings are made through her separate website at wholisticallyfit.ca/about.

What is our cancellation policy?

Clients face the full treatment price for no-shows or cancellations made within 24 hours of their appointment. Prepaid package holders for cold plunge/sauna sessions forfeit one session for no-shows or late cancellations.

Both locations occupy the second floor of Athabasca Professional Center: Unit #214 & #216, 80 Chippewa Road, Sherwood Park, AB, T8A 4W6. There is a doctor's office (Unit 215) between our two units.
